History
It all started in October 2016
Scott met Katie, Dave, Robin, and Molly at Pezylvania in October 2016. From this Pez friendship the Maryland Pez Gathering was born. These collectors, Katie, and her significant other met about a month later at Scott's house in Arnold, Maryland on November 12, 2016, and had the First Annual Maryland Pez Gathering. Dispensers were made representing the four colors of the Maryland Flag. We celebrated Thanksgiving together and that has been our tradition ever since.
In 2017 we met again met in November for the 2nd Annual Pez Gathering. That year more Pezheads gathered from Maryland and surrounding states, Pezheads traveling from Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Virginia to meet. We had another potluck "Thanksgiving" Dinner. Dealers set up tables, we played Pezzy games, had hourly Pez door prizes and had T-shirts made. We even had an Air Hockey Tournament with a vintage Pez prize of a Betsy Rose. We sponsored the American Red Cross with our charity silent auctions, both in person and on "Pez Auction" Facebook page. We raised a total of $827!
In 2017, the Maryland Pez Gathering adopted a mascot! Local MD Pezhead, Katie Chrz developed the graphic for us and we had a naming contest in 2018 on our Facebook Page. The winning name was ZEP, (PEZ spelled backward) and is a Maryland Blue Crab with a Pez candy shaped body. The 3rd Annual Maryland Pez Gathering was our largest event to date! We brought back our Air Hockey Tournament for a second year with a vintage prize of a Roar the Lion.
In 2019, the 4th Annual Maryland Pez Gathering grew again in size, with another Air Hockey Tournament

In 2020 we moved our 5th Gathering online for a year while we dodged COVID-19. This allowed participation from around the world! We even had a Pez Repair Seminar - If you missed it you can catch it on the Maryland Pez Gathering YouTube.

2021 we were back in person and masked up! It was the last year Scott hosted the gathering and he passed the torch on to Katie. 2022 took place at Patapsco Valley State Park.
In 2025 we celebrated our TENTH Gathering with extra activies such as a Zep video game, and a build your own dispenser station Be sure to check out our charity, Edible Art Show, and Registration!
